College & Career Readiness help ensure students graduate high school prepared for college and careers.
Opportunities are credentials/certificates made available to all students enrolled in a program where career and technical skill proficiencies are aligned with industry recognized standards. Credentials provide proof that the student possesses the minimum skills required for entry-level employment. CRIs with minimum requirements needed are listed below:

ACT *Required Assessment |
Students must earn an ACT College Readiness benchmark score on at least one of the following sub-tests:

Students must earn a minimum of SILVER on EACH of the three sub-tests:

Military Enlistment |
Students must have completed the formal enlistment process prior to graduation and provide documentation of enlistment. Documented completion of Military Enlistment Processing Station (MEPS) evaluations is also acceptable. Appointments for MEPS are not sufficient. |
College Credit |
Students must earn a minimum of one (1) transcripted college/post-secondary credit while in high school. A minimum final grade of "D" is required for college/post-secondary credit to be posted to their college transcripts. |
Career Technical Certificate |
The students must earn a credential/certificate on the approved list for a CTE program declared at the school. The student must be declared in that program. |
CTE Program Completer Status |
Students must complete and earn at least a C in at least three courses within one approved ALSDE CTE program. |
Apprenticeship |
Completing the requirements of an in-school youth apprenticeship program as defined by the Alabama Office of Apprenticeship. |
AP or IB Scores |
Students must earn an AP score of 3 or higher OR an IB score of 4 or higher. |
